An Amazing weeks Carp fishing for our guests

Following on from our early spawning spate of the previous couple of weeks, the guys tried their chances at the lake after we reopened for carp fishing. They were not disappointed with a record (for the lake) number of fish caught with a few more spitting their hooks. Their carp fishing efforts resulted in 19 fish between the 2 of them for the week, and, along with the gorgeous weather, it’s safe to say that they had a great time. Bathing in the spring sunshine, they barely got time for any rest but I don’t think they minded!

Take a look at some of the carp fishing catches they made!

Summers Here early.

The weather has been hot, the fishing have been on the boil! Destan Pool has basked in the glorious early spring weather we’ve been experiencing. Daytime temperature have soared way beyond the norm for this time of year which has triggered some early spawning behaviour usually expected in June. They started spawning last week on Wednesday morning, but not before one of our regulars, John, managed to pull a few of them out of the water!

Spawning seems to have finished/stalled/stopped on Sunday afternoon and we have reopened the lake this week. We aren’t sure they are finished but let’s see what happens in the next week or two. We will be keeping a close eye on it and be in contact with our customers (along with monitoring the cameras!)

The weather doesn’t seem to have hindered John and I hope he had his suncream on. There’s plenty of shade around the lake and the tranquility and peace of the Shropshire countryside was well worth the visit.

Despite his early termination of his session due the spawning and the weather conditions not being ideal for fishing, John still managed to pull these few out of the lake.
